From Atlantic coasts to northern mountains, medieval cities, and the deep Sahara
The comprehensive loop from Casablanca: Hassan II Mosque, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, Merzouga & Marrakech
The ultimate circuit: Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, Merzouga & Marrakech
Casablanca has Morocco's largest international airport, with direct long-haul flights from North America, which makes it the natural start for a full circuit of the country. Rabat is an hour north, and the road continues to Chefchaouen, Fes and the Sahara before looping back through Marrakech.
Casablanca itself needs less time than other Moroccan cities. One visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors on guided tours, is enough for most travelers before moving on. Plan at least 8 days to see the imperial cities and the desert comfortably.
